Opened it up and those projects are still doing the same thing. I then realised I had an oldish version of FCPX (I have a work administered machine and working from home meant I haven't been able to update it) So I finally got some remote support to download the latest version so went from 10.4.7 to 10.5.2. So did a prefs trash, all the usual things but that didn't work. Next I went to cut an audio clip and it then cut something above the primary line and inserted a huge blank space and then put the new cut section right that the end of that. Then if I dragged a clip down the whole interface on the viewer and timeline flickered and the clip didn't drop at the end but at some random place in the edit. E placed the clip on the second from the end, W did the same and Q created a random blank space and then placed the clip at the end of that above the primary storyline. ![]() None of the usual insert/append/overwrite shortcuts worked and instead they did different things. ![]() Today, for some reason FCP starting acting up.
